However, we request an updated copy annually to ensure we can accurately verify your benefits and help you make the most of your coverage each year. Before your visit, our staff confirms your current health and/or vision insurance details so we can determine copays in advance. This allows us to minimize surprises and keep your out-of-pocket costs as predictable as possible. Insurance plans often update policy numbers, group numbers, copay structures, or issue new cards even when coverage appears unchanged. Having the most current information on file helps us avoid billing issues, delays, or claim errors—and ultimately helps protect you from unnecessary expenses.
